It is not just about a car: it is about heritage, engineering bravura and Italian style. It is about British manufacturing and automotive know-how.
The Jensen Interceptor was one of the last models designed by Italian Carrozzeria Touring, of Alfa Romeo 8c 2900, Ferrari 166 and Lamborghini 400 GT fame; another Italian coachbuilder, Vignale, built the new Jensen’s earlier bodyshells, alongside those of illustrious marques such as Lancia and Maserati.
Thanks to the vast glass window wrapped around the car’s haunches and the purposeful yet sporty front, the Interceptor’s classic lines remain one of the most easily recognisable sights on British roads. The looks have not changed.
The original Interceptor (1966-1976) inherited its aggressive and speed-inspired name from a previous model but, breaking away from tradition, had a steel body instead of fibreglass. It also featured a Chrysler V8 7.2 litre engine, standard Torqueflite automatic gearbox and limited slip differential: the modern Interceptor enhances, improves and develops the original car’s character without betraying its spirit.
Jensen International Automotive
Formed in spring 2010, Jensen International Automotive is committed to manufacturing modern interpretations of the Interceptor dream, whilst remaining true to the marque’s status of as a British legend. The firm restores, modifies and improves original cars, fast-forwarding the Seventies’ dream by forty years, thanks to around 2,000 man-hours, 21 British suppliers and one notable American (GM): welcome to the bespoke, hand-built Jensen Interceptor.
