SPORTING BEARS SET FOR A MILLION POUND DREAM RIDE AT THE FOOTMAN JAMES CLASSIC MOTOR SHOW

One generous visitor might get more than they bargained for if they choose to take a ‘Dream Ride’ at this year’s Footman James Classic Motor Show as charity fundraisers The Sporting Bears Motor Club has something special planned for the person that helps them reach their £1million target.
The club is offering the person whose donation takes their fundraising total to this amazing milestone a special Dream Ride in a Ferrari Enzo at a future date as well as the chance to be taken round Silverstone circuit in Ferrari race car.
Dream Rides have been offered at the Footman James Classic Motor Show, held at Birmingham’s NEC from 16-18 November, for the past 19 years. A Dream Ride is a ten-mile ride as a passenger in exchange for a charitable donation. The amount of the donation is determined by the car chosen for the ride. And what a choice there is!
The ‘Dream Rides’ Garage will once again be filled with great British classic cars as well as its fair share of supercars. In previous years, Audi R8s have lined up next to a 1930 Lagonda, Ferraris and Lamborghinis alongside E-Type Jaguars and Frog Eyed Sprites, and the Sporting Bears hope similar are on offer this year.
The Sporting Bears will make around 1,000 dream rides over the three days, raising in excess of £37,000 each year in recent times. But who will take them to the million? Make sure you visit the Dream Rides Garage in Hall 12 to find out!
Will over 500 members, each of The Sporting Bears involved in the Dream Rides gives their time, vehicle and even fuel freely so that every penny raised goes to support children’s charities all over the UK.
Footman James Classic Motor Show manager Andy Rouse said: “I’m sure it’s not a case of if the Bears reach the million pound target, it’s more a case of when, given the popularity of the Dream Rides. The Sporting Bears bring one of the most popular features to the show while raising amazing amounts of money for charity. They should be congratulated on reaching this massive milestone.”
The Footman James Classic Motor Show is the UK’s biggest classic motoring celebration will span eleven halls with an estimated 1,500 cars and 350 motorcycles on display, ranging from the rare and exciting to pre-war and retro classics, the sublime to the ridiculous, and many more.
