At the opening of the International Motorcycle Show (Intermot) in Cologne today, Suzuki made no less than five model announcements, with the all-new V-Strom Concept taking centre stage.
Unveiled on the Suzuki show stand at 17.00 (CET), Suzuki announced the new 1000cc adventure concept along with news of the new Intruder C1500T, a heavily revised Burgman 650, an ABS equipped Hayabusa GSX1300R ABS and a special one millionth GSX-R1000 celebration model.
V-STROM 1000 CONCEPT
Inspired by the legendary DR Big Dakar racer, the V-Strom 1000 Concept will be Suzuki's most advanced adventure style machine ever.
Featuring Traction Control and integrated luggage as standard, the new model will be powered by a 1000cc liquid cooled V-Twin engine, providing ideal power for long distance rides, while its aluminium chassis provides agile handling.
The V-Strom 1000 will be part of Suzuki's 2014 line-up.
INTRUDER C1500T
The Intruder C1500T is Suzuki's first distance cruiser with practicality as standard. Offering integrated luggage, the C1500T is available in black, with black detailing carried throughout the model from forks to wheels, to exhausts to integrated panniers. The C1500T offers ample luggage capacity with an element-cheating windshield.
Powered by Suzuki's proven 1500cc V-Twin engine, the Intruder C1500T packs more than enough punch to offer a classically styled alternative for long distance touring. The Intruder C1500T will be part of Suzuki's 2013 range.
BURGMAN 650 / EXECUTIVE ABS
As the scooter that put 'luxury' into the market celebrates its 10th birthday this year, Suzuki evolves the concept further for 2013 with the new Burgman 650.
Bringing greater comfort, enhanced ergonomics and better economy, the new Burgman 650 boasts a host of updates, all aimed at making it the most rider friendly luxury scooter available.
With improved fuel consumption, the Burgman 650 is now 15% more efficient than before, which combined with a new 'Eco Drive Indicator' puts frugality back into the hands of the rider.
Up to date ergonomics and styling mean that the Burgman 650 continues to impress, by offering standard equipment such as new lightweight ABS, a powered height adjustable screen, electrically retractable mirrors and a DC power socket. On top of this, the Executive model boasts heated grips and heated passenger and rider seats, as well as a passenger backrest.
The new Burgman 650 will be available in 2013.
HAYABUSA GSX1300R ABS
The legend continues its evolution for 2013 with concentrated development on braking power and efficiency.
Utilising what is widely regarded as the best braking componentry on the market, the 2013 GSX1300R Hayabusa now offers Brembo Monoblock calipers with new lightweight ABS as standard.
Offered in three new colour schemes, the revised Hayabusa will be available in 2013.
GSX-R1000 - ONE MILLIONTH COMMEMORATIVE ADDITION
2012 signals the one millionth GSX-R to roll off the production line at Suzuki's Hamamatsu factory in Japan.
To commemorate this important milestone Suzuki has announced the GSX-R1000 Commemorative Edition for 2013, boasting a host of detail aesthetic changes to celebrate one of motorcycling's most loved ranges.
Featuring a special paint scheme, the commemorative GSX-R1000 also has unique black Brembo Monoblock calipers with gold lettering, wheel stripes, gold forks, a celebratory tank graphic, numbered top yoke, red fork tops, a special key ring and a distinctive red coloured nose cone.
The GSX-R1000 will be available in the UK during 2013.
