Giuliano Mazzuoli presents “Trasmissione Meccanica”

Born from Giuliano Mazzuoli's creativity and inspired by an automotive mechanical trasmission, a
completely new and original model joins the 2012 Giuliano Mazzuoli watch collection.
What is more beautiful than mechanics? Elements designed for their function without considering
in the very least their aesthetics. There was a time when the designer used to watch the gear box
taken apart and put back together with anticipation so that he could take a ride in the car.
Today, Giuliano Mazzuoli looks at it in a different way.
The new concept of “Trasmissione Meccanica” was inspired from mechanical parts and
transformed into a timepiece. The gear became the case of the watch. The disc of the clutch was
transformed into an original dial while the crown of the watch is identical to the spline shaft
(Tuscan mechanics call it “sedano” (the celery stick)) that transmits the rotations of the engine to
the gear shift. The hands of the watch are like the ones on the compass found on the mechanic’s
bench.
“Trasmissione Meccanica” aims is to mix mechanical elements in a modern and luxury timepiece
following the traditional canons of Giuliano Mazzuoli's philosophy by reinterpreting classical
mechanical tools in a different way.
