HISTORICS’ FRENCH FANCY

Rally ace Roger Clark’s Gallic Alpine great comes to auction

With Renault and the Caterham Group joining forces to build a new sports car under the renowned Alpine title, interest in the original 60’s sports car has received a fresh injection, with a growing appreciation for a car which found fame as a result of its rally pedigree in the early 1970’s.
Although not itself raced, Historics’ Gallic example was first registered on 11th August 1972, to British rally legend Roger Clark.  Fittingly the original seats were replaced with rally style sports seats, whilst the 1289cc engine was recently restored by marque experts.
Having covered just 70,000 miles in over 40 years, the stylish A110 Berlinette represents a highly collectible yet thoroughly usable example of French automotive flair.
Finished in blue with black trim – and the original seats supplied alongside the incumbent rally variants – the auction house is estimating offers in the region of £35,000 to £40,000.
For more information on Historics at Brooklands auction on the afternoon of Saturday November 24th, call 0800 988 3838, e-mail: auctions@historics.co.uk, or see the website, www.historics.co.uk.
